Automobilisti.ca is our online magazine for Societa Automombilistica Storica Internazional (SASI) to document the cars, stories and people in order to create an international community of online readers

We believe that driving in a small sport car is a great way to experience beautiful country roads, road side eateries and to stay in beautiful inns and hotels. So our motto is "Drive, Eat, and Discover" in best roads on earth, we are big fans of The Michelen Guide. We are inspired to publish a guide of cars and places but unlike the experts behind the Michelen Guide we can not award ratings but show things we love in our humble opinion.

Our Collection

The cars we love are simple and minimalistic as expressed Ludwig Mies van der Rohe quote "less is more" . Same goes for the places and food we like! Post 1960's car demand boomed for simple fun cars like the Lotus Elan and ended in 90's revival of minimalism and austerity with the introduction of the Mazda Miata and Porsche Boxster.

These designs continued in the 90's , the cars of SASI are from the 60's - 90's and either are Italian, British, German and Japanese. In this 40 year period the most iconic cars from the greatest car companies of the era MGB, Triumph, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Mercedes, VW & Porsche, Mazda, Honda, Nissan and many others.. We believe that the peak of the sports car was in the 1960's before Federal Regulations for safety and economy. We generally don't care for the 1970's and 1980's malaise era cars but we feel that something special happened in the 1990's with all the major brands making back to basic sports cars especially our favourite the convertible.

As in the japanese concept of wabi-sabi, wabi may be translated as "subdued, austere beauty," while sabi means "rustic patina. It generally takes about 25 years for a car to be a classic so in 2025 we are looking fondly back to 1999 Porsche Boxsters with their austere beauty and the patina of age. The places are simple too, rural roads and small towns or empty countryside. So we created Societa Automombilistica Storica Internazional (SASI) to document the cars, drives and people in order to create a community. Please drive mindfully in convertible sports car and seek beautiful roads and places to drive, respect other drivers and drive safely!
